Biographical Profile 2008

Born in 1969, Jameson grew up in Loudonville, New York, outside of Albany. At thirteen he was accepted to Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. Boarding at Choate appealed to Jameson, surrounded as he was by the extensive arts offerings. Designed by I.M.Pei, the Paul Mellon Arts Center at Choate was the focal point of Jameson's arts education. His teachers challenged and supported creative exploration in painting, drawing, sculpting and ultimately the weaving that Jameson came to love. Later, Jameson completed a Mass Communications degree at Boston University; the creative urge drew him to The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. There Jameson added to his educational resume a degree in Fashion Design while he continued his study of textiles. In 1992, Jameson entered the corporate fashion world, where in the span of four years he worked his way up to Creative Director of apparel and uniform fabrics for a textile firm, Stillwater.

In mid 1999, Jameson left for where his heart truly was, and founded his company, Twisted Textiles. Based in Carnegie Hill, New York City, Twisted Textiles produces fine hand woven textiles using the best materials available worldwide. Also in 1999, Jameson completed four major wall hanging commissions for private clients in New York City and Vermont. The year 2000 included multiple shows and private commissions. In 1985, Jameson's family purchased a house in Manchester Village, Vermont. There he found the community very accepting of his fiber art and in 2001 he achieved a dream of having a solo show in Gallery VIII at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, Vermont followed by a solo show at the Chaffee Arts Center in Rutland, Vermont. Jameson also has found hand spinners in the area that share his passion for fiber arts. Jameson is thrilled with the success of Twisted Textiles and honored to have shown in the American Craft Council's shows in Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, St. Paul, and San Francisco. In addition, Twisted Textiles has exhibited in the CraftBoston Show for many years. In 2006, Twisted Textiles exhibited in the prestigious Philadelphia Museum of Arts Craft Show.

Twisted Textiles can be found in galleries and museum stores from coast to coast.
